ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Texas Lutheran senior right-hander?Dwayne Snider?threw nine innings of no-hit baseball on Friday as part of twin nine-inning no-hitters in the Rochester Ridgemen v. Sherrill Silversmiths game of the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

Snider and opposing pitcher Kevin Carpentier (Finger Lakes CC) each took no-hitters into the 10th inning. Snider gave up two hits in the 10th and left the game with a no-decision. Carpentier also lost his no-hitter in the 10th and took the loss.

Snider struck out 11 and walked two in his nine complete innings of work. (He did not retire a batter in the 10th.) Snider held batters in the game to a batting average of .071. His WHIP (walks + hits per inning pitched) stood at 0.44.

Snider was named the NYCBL Pitcher of the Week for his outing with the Ridgemen.

Snider was named to the NYCBL All-Star Game and was the All-Star game starting pitcher for "The Second Impact" squad.

Snider currently leads the NYCBL in strikeouts, with 48, and he is third in the league in ERA, at 1.49. Snider is 1-2 with the Ridgemen. He has thrown 48.1 innings and walked just 12. In his last two starts, both no-decisions, he has struck out 22 and walked just three.

TLU played in the NCAA Division III West Region Tournament in Austin. The Bulldogs were 33-14 overall and 16-2 in the ASC.

The New York Collegiate Baseball League, founded in 1978, is a summer wood bat development league for professional baseball. Major League Baseball funds a small portion of the league's annual budget.

The league gives college players who have not yet signed a professional contract the opportunity to develop their skills at a higher level of play, gain experience with wood bats, and be evaluated by scouts. The NYCBL is located in scenic Upstate New York.

Teams play a 40-game regular season schedule with games beginning in June and ending in the last week in July. ?All games are nine innings, with most doubleheaders scheduled on the weekends. The All-Star game is played in early July, and the League Championship Series concludes in late July.
