Boykin hired as interim football coach at Warhill High

JAMES CITY ? Warhill High announced Obie Boykin as school?s interim football coach for the 2013 season.

Boykin has served as an assistant on the Lions? staff for the last four years and has been running the offseason programs during the search for a new coach.

A former member of the William and Mary football team, Boykin has great knowledge of the program and has a good reputation among the players.

Boykin will serve as the fourth football coach in school history. Bryan Davis was hired as coach in June but he resigned a month later after an issue getting his teaching license renewed.

The Lions will open the 2013 football season on Aug. 30 at Churchland High School.
